I had another visit with my doctor yesterday. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in August 2004 with lap surgery. For the last few years now, I’ve been suffering with pain during my cycles. Now I’m in almost constant pain in my lower back. We are discussing the fact that I now have adhesions caused by either the surgery in 2004 or the endo is back. I will go back to the doctor in November and possibly schedule another surgery.
When my back is hurting it’s like my lower back is being pulled in and down. It’s really hard to walk and I have to take small steps or I feel like I’m going to throw up. I was hopeful after trying something new in August but the pain and bleeding are out of control to say the least.
I am trying Toradol for the inflammation. Today is my first day and I’m not all that impressed. I’m still in a lot of pain. Maybe it needs to “build up” in my system?
I refuse to give up and I know that I will find relief eventually…Or at least minimize the pain so that I can function. I have been reaching out to others who are suffering like I am and it helps to bounce ideas off of each other. I welcome any and all input.
Hi Leah,
ReplyDeleteYou are wise in seeking out information from other women and bouncing ideas off one another. It is unfortunate that today's woman is often left to suffer, many times life-altering debilitating pain, due to the all too common belief that she has a condition termed so medically "perplexing" that she finds herself at the mercy of her doctor who provides little to no answer to her continuing pain. I am providing a link to an article I've written about endometriosis and the emphasis the medical community places upon this illness while providing little to no information to the subsequent illness: adhesions. Since surgery is the number one cause of adhesions, many doctors are reluctant to discuss (in depth) the illness and the myriad of "symptoms" adhesion formation can cause within the body. I've also written a book about my daughter's 14-year illness and our trying journey to find an answer to her debilitating condition. Wishing you renewed health! Karen

Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your note. I did check your links and found them to be very informative. I'm so happy that Melissa finally found relief after suffering for so many years. Hopefully I will be joining her soon! :-)
